I received six calls, three messages, and a letter all within a few hours from this number. They claimed to be from the Department of Health regarding my COVID booster shot and were very pushy in their communication.

Over the last two days, I have received three SMS messages stating that I should expect a call from (03) 9254 4505. However, I have not received any calls or missed calls from this number. This seems unusual and I suspect it's a scam.

This is a legitimate phone number that is reaching out to inform people about booster vaccination options. They emphasize the importance of getting vaccinated due to the ongoing health crisis, where many lives are at stake, yet some individuals are still hesitant to get their boosters.

The caller claimed to be from the Department of Health. However, this was not a legitimate call, as I received my third vaccine dose back in March and my GP has not recommended a fourth dose.

I received a call claiming to be from the Department of Health. If it were truly them, they would already have my information showing that I've received my third vaccine dose, so I'm skeptical of their legitimacy.

Two calls in two days from "Steve" and "Philip" from the Department of Health's Mumbai office. Don't fall for this obvious con. Hang up.

They inquired if I received a text message notifying me of the call; however, I hadn't received anything. I placed them on hold while I verified their identity with the Department of Health, and it turns out the call was legitimate and part of a genuine inquiry.

I keep receiving calls and texts about a booster shot. This persistent communication is becoming really annoying and intrusive.

This looks like a scam to me. They seem to be aware that 90% of Victorians have received their second vaccination. The caller's intent appears to be to promote a booster shot followed by a request for credit card details! It’s absurd to think the government would call 25 million people like this.

I started receiving calls and messages from this number yesterday. After missing their initial call, they persisted to call me again this morning, which I find to be excessively pushy and annoying.

Labeling this as a scam. It seems I’m not the only one, as the messages they send are highly questionable and potentially fraudulent!

Legitimate number - Victorian Department of Health calling to help me book my booster.

I received a call at 5:30 PM, followed by three more calls that same night. When I called back, there was a recording about COVID booster shots. After blocking the number, I still received six more calls within two hours, which seems suspicious to me.

Letting people know that they are available for booster vaccine and can book appt thru them. Pretty useful.

The caller was trying to schedule an appointment or inform me that I was eligible for a booster shot, but did not provide any further details.

Health department number has been spoofed, random music, and an Indian man’s voice repeatedly saying hello.

It's legitimate. Annoying they called a few times over past few days but I answered this time. Short music tone then nice Aussie guy on behalf of Dept. Of Health (Covid team) just checking if they could assist with booking a booster shot.

Not pretending to be Department of Health - The are actually the Department of Health calling people to let them know they are now eligible for their booster.

Data Mining - number is being spoofed by scammers.

This is a scam. They are trying to get you to answer so they know you have an active number, then that number is sold to scam companies as an "active number. They are doing this from multiple numbers and just pretending to be from the department of health, which is highly illegal. Do not answer calls from numbers you don't recognize, just block them.

Absolutely harassing the crap out of my number, every day for the last 7 days about receiving third dose of vaccine.

Legitimate call. Was VIC DoH to offer help with booking my vaccine. Advised it wasn’t necessary and they said goodbye.

Legitimate call offering to help book my booster vaccine. It was received on a Sunday morning and as soon as connected I was out on hold, however, when it was picked up a polite Indian women spoke to me and knew my name and date of last Vax. Once I said it was already booked with a local clinic they wished me a good day and hung up. I suspect the anti vax team are out in force trying to discredit this number and put people off booking in. Geeez, they are desperate aren’t they!?

Called me 3 days ago rang 3 times and hung up then called me at 7 am this morning and hung up. Not sure if it's legitimately the Vic Health Dept. But it's annoying me.

Definitely not a scam. Call was regarding the vaccine booster. Knew my name and the date of my second vaccination. Asked if I wanted their assistance in booking the booster, told them no I will go to local pharmacy. Caller was fine and said if I change my mind I can book for the state run clinics using their website.

Don’t trust it. When I picked up, there was no response, just hold music. I hung up, as I can only assume they are cold calling for scam purposes. They didn’t call back so they’re probably onto the next victim.

Just got a call from this number was sure it was a scam or not but thought to report.

Called me twice on a Saturday morning, asking if I consent to recording and give my health information, of course not, then said "so you don't want your booster shot?", I said I can book online myself. Definitely a scam.

I got two times call from this number 03 9254 4505, first they call me at 11:11 am when I’m answer the call, they not speak anything but only musics. After two hour they call me again but I’m didn’t answer because I’m not sure this scam or not.

When I picked up, I heard an international (OT possibly redirected) tone, then an Indian man started asking me quickly for my personal information without identifying himself. I said "excuse me, who am I speaking to?", he hung up the phone. I am aware that the government is calling regarding booster vaccinations but this man, I completely believe, was a scammer.

I received a phone call from a scammer who had a foreign accent and was trying to phish for my personal details. I did not share any information.

Why was it a scam?

Call came 9.12 am on Saturday. Scam.

It's the Department of Health and Human Services calling, likely about the booster shot.

I picked up this call as it looked like a local number. I could hear voices in the background but no one was speaking to me. It sounded like a room full of people. Not a scam call centre but like a family group with young children. It seemed like someone had called me by accident.

Not sure if scam or not, didn't answer, they left a voice message but nothing on it, called back on another number stright to DHS tried to call you be prepaired to receive a call back mind you it was a totally diffrent number I called from.

I received a call and, after identifying that the caller was speaking to me about something I was not interested in, I informed them I do not live in Melbourne and hung up.

I received a message stating that the Department of Health is attempting to contact me. The message assured me that I do not need to take any action, which raises my suspicion that it is a scam.
