    Caller said they were from the Dept. Of Heath and calling about booster vaccine eligibility. The caller asked if I had received an SMS saying to expect a call. I didn't get an SMS so put them on hold while I checked with the Dept. Of Health. Turns out it's legit and a genuine call.

    This is a scam. They are trying to get you to answer so they know you have an active number, then that number is sold to scam companies as an "active number. They are doing this from multiple numbers and just pretending to be from the department of health, which is highly illegal. Do not answer calls from numbers you don't recognize, just block them.

    3rd vaccinations have been ramped up from a 4 month wait to a 3 month wait, due to increased doses and the climbing death toll in Victora (and everywhere). It's either this or another lockdown, and I know which I would rather:)

    Legitimate call offering to help book my booster vaccine. It was received on a Sunday morning and as soon as connected I was out on hold, however, when it was picked up a polite Indian women spoke to me and knew my name and date of last Vax. Once I said it was already booked with a local clinic they wished me a good day and hung up. I suspect the anti vax team are out in force trying to discredit this number and put people off booking in. Geeez, they are desperate aren’t they!?

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
