The scammer got a mouthful and hung up after!
The caller did not leave a message, so I have chosen not to return the call as it seems unimportant.
Claimed to be tess from the australian research centre. Clearly a pre-recorded too because there was a ten second delay before it began. Also so funny that they’re using the same prerecorded message. Or it just means that the Australian Research Centre only hires women named tess lol.
When I answered the phone, there was a 10-second pause followed by a robotic voice stating they were from the Australian Research Centre. They claimed they were conducting a survey on how the rising cost of living is affecting people, and that I could enter a draw for $1000. I don’t trust this call at all and suspect it's a scam.

I received a call from a research center asking for my personal information. I found the questions intrusive and decided to hang up as it wasn't worth my time to answer them.
When I returned the call, I was greeted by a robotic message, indicating it was a robo call.
I missed a call from this number and when I called back, the line was engaged. I don’t recognize this number and suspect it might be a robocall, as I rarely share my phone number and don’t know anyone with a landline these days.
The call came during my work hours. They are becoming more deceptive by showing a caller ID that appears to be from Melbourne, which almost tricked me into answering. Thanks to this website, I found out that it is a scam call, and I have since blocked the number.

A persistent young woman caller with an Australian accent who said her name was Tess and she was calling from the Australian Research Centre. Told me I could go into a draw to win a $1,000 gift voucher. Hung up when I asked her to provide more details of the organization she was calling from.
