I received a call today from a number that appeared to be an Australian landline. I'm confused as to why this number is still active.
The caller claimed to be from Paypal and alleged there were attempts to transfer $1,000 from my account. They attempted to gather more information from me by offering to help secure my devices, which raised my suspicions.
On August 9, 2024, I received a call from this number claiming to be from NBN. They mentioned there would be a disturbance on the line. When I acknowledged this, the caller abruptly responded and then hung up without providing any further information.
This is definitely a scam; I dislike receiving such calls from unsolicited sources, particularly those perceived as scams originating from the subcontinent.
