I believe this call was from a scammer. The caller claimed to be from Telstra, but as soon as I said I wasn't associated with Telstra, they immediately hung up.
An Indian woman called, stating something about my Optus connection related to my phone number. However, we are not even with Optus, making this a clear scam call.
9/8/24 I note earlier reviews of this number on this site and another reverse call one. Looks like it is back in use. Calling through to message bank. Leaves no message.
As soon as I saw this number I knew it was 'hinky' and didn't bother to answer. After checking here and at another 'should I answer AU' site, I knew declining and blocking this number was the correct thing to do.
For many years, if an unknown phone number shows on the caller ID I don't even bother answering and I don't even consider thinking about phoning back any missed unknown number (on caller ID) to check if it's legitimate. Unknown numbers are now automatically blocked. I don't have 'messagebank/voicemail' due to all the scam calls these days. My time is valuable and these insidious scammers don't deserve to have 1 second of it.

The caller inquired if I had transferred any money overseas. When I asked where he was calling from, he claimed to be from "xxx bank." I informed him that I would report this call to the police and accused him of being a scammer before he hung up.
