I got a call from someone who claimed to be from the Commonwealth Bank's security department, warning me about a suspicious transaction. After checking my online banking, I found no issues, and when I hung up, they did not call back.

B

An automated message was left on my voicemail stating it was from Mastercard Visa, asking me to confirm a transaction of approximately $6 to Western Union. The message instructed me to press 1 to confirm or 2 to speak with an operator. I advise everyone not to engage and to hang up immediately, as it's likely spam. If this were a legitimate call, they would offer alternative contact methods.

My mobile alerted me that the call was suspected spam, so I declined it and added the number to my block list. Prior to this call, I received another unfamiliar one labeled as "Johnson Real Estate Forest Lake" from Monty Bloom, with the address 2/3 The Esplanade, Forest Lake QLD, and a website montybloomjre dot com. I'm blocking that number as well, which is 0413 044 356.

This caller claimed to be from Telstra, stating that my IP address was switching from private to public, which seemed suspicious to me.

After questioning her about her feelings on scam calls aimed at stealing money, she maintained it was not a scam call. Doubting her credibility, I expressed my skepticism, and she abruptly hung up.

The caller claimed they had a much better phone plan for me. However, when I started to ask detailed questions like my account number, they abruptly hung up, which feels very suspicious.
