    So annoying they call up to as late as 8:30 pm, block one number then they call from another number with same prefix just different last 2 digits. Leaving a recorded message saying it's an important national survey bla bla, you want to do this you should PAY for people to come in for focus groups.

    The number was (03) 9122 0929, it’s a survey company. Not a scam. Yes there are a lot of questions, but you don’t have to answer the ones you don’t like. I was asked mostly about which media typed I preferred like Newspapers/Radio/Tv/ paid Tv etc...... and what information I gather from them as in for work/study/enjoyment. Nothing sinister- just a company paying for market research via phone call.

    Called me twice... The first time was this number (03) 9122 0928.. The second time was (03) 9122 0929... Looks like they have brought block numbers from Telstra... Thanks to the above comments, I now know to block and delete.

    Called just before 5:30 pm. Phone WARNED ME IT WAS A SCAM CALL - They left a voicemail and said they would be calling back. Apparently for a "International Survey" -- safe to say they will be left blocked!!! I am on the DO NOT CALL REGISTER. Good to see they completely ignore this information! My opinion - stop bugging people on their phones. We have enough scams!!!

    Spoke in a different language and was completely not understandable. Melbourne number and I wonder how they speak THIS language in an ENGLISH country. By the looks, it definitely raises suspicion and should be investigated.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
