Caller knew my name and post code and claimed to be from National Broadband Network. He (indian Accent) claimed that National Broadband Network service in my area is being upgraded and I will be disconnected unless I made booking to have technician come and upgrade my connection. Didn't give him a chance to tell me there was a charge for it as I bluntly accused him of scamming as there is no possibility of upgrades in my area anytime soon. Funnily he hung up very quickly!

A caller identified themselves as being from NBN Co and claimed they were conducting fiber upgrades at my address. They mentioned that a parcel with new fiber optic equipment would arrive on Friday, and that a technician named David Wilson would come on Monday to install it. The caller asked me to verify my address and mobile number.

They asked if I authorized payments to Western Union and eBay, which I hadn't. Feeling uneasy, I ended the call promptly.
