Microsoft Impersonation Reports for 03 9067 7968

Seven contributors have reported calls from 03 9067 7968 (also written as 0390677968) claiming to represent Microsoft. The pattern is consistent across reports: callers identify themselves as Microsoft licensing representatives or account managers, target business phone lines, and attempt to discuss Microsoft licences and subscriptions. Multiple contributors noted the callers used vague or generic information that could easily be sourced from public company details, raising immediate red flags about legitimacy.

The most detailed report describes a woman identifying herself as "Ellie" with a Philippine accent, claiming to be a Microsoft Licensing Lifecycle manager. When questioned about account holder and company information, she hesitated and struggled to provide accurate details. Another contributor noted that 0390677968 called daily over a week with claims that a specific Microsoft licence type was being discontinued, pushing an upgrade to a more expensive option despite no corroborating evidence found anywhere online.

What Callers from 03 9067 7968 Claim

Contributors report callers from 03 9067 7968 use several consistent opening lines: "I'm calling from Microsoft licensing", "I'm your account manager", or "I'm a Microsoft Licensing Lifecycle manager". Callers claim to have information about the recipient's company and its Microsoft licence usage, though the details are often vague or generic when questioned.

The scam escalates with false urgency. One contributor reported being told that a specific Microsoft licence was being discontinued and that an immediate upgrade to a more expensive option was necessary. Another report described the caller requesting to speak with someone "in charge of Microsoft licences or subscriptions". When challenged, contributors found the callers had no specific knowledge beyond what could be discovered through a basic Google search of the company name.

A notable pattern: the callers often have accents suggesting outsourced call centre operations, with audible background noise consistent with high-volume dialling environments. One contributor explicitly noted "call-center like background" during the call.

Call Patterns and Timing

Reports span from October 2023 through March 2026, indicating this scam has operated continuously from 03 9067 7968 for over two years. The frequency varies: one contributor received calls daily for over a week, while others experienced single or occasional calls. One report mentioned the number calling 2 or 3 times in a short period, sometimes with no one speaking (silent calls).

Most reports indicate the calls target business phone lines during business hours, with callers specifically requesting to speak with decision-makers or licence administrators. This suggests the scammers are deliberately targeting companies with existing Microsoft infrastructure rather than making random calls.

Received a call from "microsoft" had some info about company but was too vague.

Wanted to know more about how licenses were being used.

Could hear an unclear accent on the phone, and call-center like background.

Likely a scam, called the company I work for requesting to speak with someone about their Microsoft licence. We manage this through a third party so there should be no reason for Microsoft so be contacting us directly...

I (the company I work for) received a call from this number, called herself Ellie (Philippine accent) said she was from Microsoft, wanted to speak to someone in charge of Microsoft licences/subscriptions, said she was our account manager, suspecting a scam, I queried her about the account holder info, company info etc, she kind of got it but with delays and hesitations (nothing you can't find on Google). So I told her no one available that can help her and to send the request via our email.

A woman purporting to be from Microsoft called from this number daily for over a week, and advised that she was a Microsoft Licensing Lifecycle manager. She claimed a type of Microsoft license used within our business was being discontinued and wanted to up-sell to a more expensive license. We couldn't find any evidence to support her claims about the license being discontinued. Appears to be a company outsourced by Microsoft to upsell existing customers to more expensive licenses in an aggressive way.

Seems to be some kind of scam, typically they'll call 2 or more times in a short period and not say anything.
