    Got a call which asked for me or my wife by full names - the number came up, but the number is for Australian Super - when I checked - I asked where she was calling from, and she refused to say citing "privacy" - Australian Super say they give name where from and privacy statement. Asian voice. Nobody here has super with them so clearly a scam - do not confirm your details.

    Said Hello and hang up, called back the number. Message said this is Australian Super... Looking at the number of complaints reported here, I don't think they are who they claimed in the message.

    This number is definitely Hesta Insurance. I left the message February 8 saying it was not their number but if definitely is. This is not a scam. They have since contacted me by email and again on this number confirming information on email. Don’t worry not scam.

    This number has rung me twice looking for my husband. I told the caller the number they were calling was my number but I could give them his number. I asked who was calling before I could give them his number as I was going to inform my husband about it. The lady said "for confidentiality reasons I cannot give you that information". I asked what company or business this was again she said "for confidentiality reasons I cannot give you that information." Really pissed me off. She had a Filipino accent. I tried ringing back but number would not connect.

    This number called me tonight. I didn’t answer it but I do not need a ‘plumber’ from another state to call me.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
