    This is the number left by people operating the ATO arrest warrant scam. That is, I have a warrant for your arrest, call me back - at which point they demand money. I called the number back 5 times with a different way of annoying them, until they blocked me. Oh well, have to have fun another way.

    I have had calls from this number twice now. Some moronic voice from the North of England (I look forward to meeting you sunshine!) tells me that there is a tax issue and that they have sent some form to me which have not been actioned. This is all bullshit of course; but I called the number back and sure enough, a thick Indian accent answers the phone with "Tax Office". I cannot type what was said after that, but I hope to meet these clowns just once in my life, for about 10 seconds because that's all it will take for me to knock their teeth out.

    This is clearly a scam but some low-life dogs!

    Delete the message and report it to anyone you think can put an end to these cretins. Love to know if you find anyone (other than me) that's prepared to do anything about them though.

    Oh, and if you're one of them and you're reading this, please give me your address and I'll call by and PAY you..

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
