    Received call from this number. Callers claimed to be from the Australian Tax Office and they have been after me for failed overdue tax returns. They even had an Australian they put me through to who claimed to be a police officer with a warrant out for my arrest and unless I paid $1000 immediately the warrant would still stand. The means of payment requested was through I Tunes vouchers. I called them a few times through the day and different people answered though they were all Asian and answered the phone with "Australian Tax Office". In the background there were numerous Asian voices speaking quite loudly. All has been reported to police and on Scam Watch. Apparently quite a few people have fallen victim to their scam.

    Recorded message left on my mobile phone saying my family is being investigated for fraud and to call back the number. The message is not to clear and they don't mention a department or company they are calling from.

    Scammers called from 0390163710 pretending to be the ATO fraud department. Initially from a computer generated voice prompt advising legal action is being taken against me if I do not call them immediately.

    It's a scam. They leave a voice message claiming to be from the government and that they have tried to contact you (usually regarding tax evasion). They then say they have started legal proceedings against you and ask you to call them back. Don't call.

    I got miss called from this number few time. I called backed 3x but the number had a busy tone and it hangs up... The 4x time I called, a lady with an Indian accent answered. I told her I got miss called from this number and I was just returning the call and asked her how I could help. She told me she just got my name and a phone number and she hangs up.... So I asked my friend to call the same number, the first attempt was a busy tone then it hangs up so she calls the second time, the lady with an Indian accent answered that she was from some company, my friend asked her to repeat the name of the company instead off answering her, the lady hang up. Weird or maybe scam.

    Automated message left on MessageBank when I didn't answer my phone. It said that my family & I were being investigated by their department for fraud. Claimed they have tried to contact us unsuccessfully so they now regarded the fraud as intentional. Said that a lawsuit had been taken out in my name & that I should call this number back for more information.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
