    Same number called today 8 times aggressively. I checked on this post, waited for the continuous calls to stop WITHOUT unlocking my mobile phone, and blocked this number immediately after the ringing stopped.

    I’ve received a Call from this Number: 03 9016 3505 & when I answered, there was a Voice Recorded Message stating that it is a Call from ATO & I must returned their Call.

    If I choose to ignore, they will issue a Warrant to arrest me.

    I called this Number (after I “blocked” my Number Display) & wanted to “play” with them; unfortunately, they kept “hanging up” (diverted to an Engaged Tone after a couple of rings.

    It must be able to recognise my No Caller ID & decided NOT to answer.

    I sincerely hope that the Authorities or Police can investigate & truly arrest these people as some may fall for such tricks/scams.

    There was an automated voice saying that they were from ATO and calling for your taxation misconduct. They also asked you to call them back otherwise you will "get arrested".

    I did try to call the number back (silly me), but the line was busy.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
