Scam email with this number listed as the contact number.

The email is claiming to be from AVG Security, saying that it will deduct $398.00 from my account today, being for a 12 month renewal. I have never subscribed to AVG, and don't forsee that I would ever subscribe to their company in the future.

I have no idea how they got my email address, as the one they sent this to is only used for close friends and family, and anyone else is only used for encrypted mail.

Don't reply to the email, or call them as it will verify that you exist, and you will be inundated with scams for as long as you keep that email address, and your phone number is sold on to the many other scammers who call people.

Today, I received a text message regarding the expiration of my Security subscription. It appeared legitimate since we outsource our IT security services, but I learned the hard way to not trust texts from unknown numbers. I searched the phone number online and discovered useful information on this site. I deleted the suspicious message. Thank you for the help!

This number is associated with a computer security system that I never subscribed to. My name was not mentioned in the message. Its purpose seems to be to entice me to call them to cancel, while potentially requiring my card details.

An email about an AVG subscription was sent to me from an address I have only used for Medicare, suggesting a possible breach. The phone number listed in the email for contact could be related to this issue.
