    The number 03 9015 4516 is a scammer from Melbourne somewhere. They left a robotic voice mail claiming to be from the Australian Taxation Office. They said there was a lawsuit against me for tax fraud and if I didn’t call back to discuss with them and provide details I would be arrested. Do not pick up / phone back or share any personal or bank details. 100% SCAM!!

    Confirmed on official ATO website and rang ATO to report number as well as.

    Received a recorded voice message stating legal action was being taken against me..

    Did not state my name, phone number or reason for legal action.

    Called back, a male claiming to be from the ATO.. Asked for my details, I refused to answer and he hung up..

    Didn't answer but they did leave a recorded message on my mobile phone (American robotic male voice). I can't hear the first part of the message but something is being filed under my name and as soon as I get the message to call back on his "department division number" and if I didn't call back they would "issue an arrest warrant under my name and get me arrested". I'm not calling back - come and arrest me.

    This number just called my mobile... It was a recording in an American accent saying it was the Australian taxation department and that I was to call them back as there was a law suit pending and if I don’t called back an arrest warrant will be issued...... So I say issue away!!!

    Total scam...... I know it’s been going on for years, but they are still trying!

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
