Pretending to be Norton.
SCAM - I received a call from this number claiming to be associated with fake McAfee and Norton subscription renewals. When I called back, they immediately knew who I was without me providing any personal information. They attempted to assist me in canceling an order that someone else supposedly activated for me. The caller asked me to enter certain commands on my computer, which would have given him remote access. I did not comply and hung up the call immediately.
'Michael' with a British accent called saying he was from NAB security wanting to speak to our accounts manager, we don't bank with NAB so I asked if I can take a message and for our account manager to phone him back, he hung up instantly.
A person pretending to be from NAB Security contacted me, claiming they needed to verify if a recently authorized payment was legitimate and requested my NAB ID. I said I would visit a branch for verification and asked for details about the suspicious transaction, but they abruptly hung up.
Michael called supposedly from bendigo bank - asked to go to bendigo-help. Net to connect remote support to investigate a suspicious transaction from yesterday.
Yep, same deal today.
Guy with a slight English/Irish accent, claimed he was from NAB, he tried to convince me he was legit by telling me about a compromised card we had. I asked for a reference number so I could call the bank and he got upset and hung up. I Followed up with he NAB, and no calls from them were made to me.
Can confirm, this is a scam caller.
03 90137377 rang me this morning claiming to be from national bank, he knew the last three digits of my bank account, I told him that wasn't my last three digits, laughed at him and he hung up, he had a very friendly English accent, I rang nab and they told me there were no phone calls registered to my business this morning, beware of the number above.
