I got a call from a number claiming to be Bendigo Bank, saying there were three transactions on my account made by someone named Peter Wilson from America. The problem is, I don't even bank with Bendigo Bank. I played along with the caller for a while, but honestly, I have no money, so good luck trying to scam me!
A caller claiming to be from Telstra contacted me, stating that there was illegal activity on my internet connection. When I questioned him about it, he told me to check the status lights on my modem to see that they were blinking, implying this was evidence of unauthorized use. I later contacted my computer technician, who assured me that lights on my modem always flash during normal use.
