Yes thank you, if they keep calling I'll report it as harassment.
Called me, same thing, recording played stating this is the taxation office a lawsuit has been filed against you if you do not respond to this call you will be arrested.
Very unsettling but once I sat and thought it became obvious it's scammers, what official office pre-records the conversation they need to have with you especially if it entails lawsuits? Really !!! Not what I needed at that time felt like taking my phone straight to Police but came home instead and decided if they call again they can leave a message giving me evidence.
Scammers from overseas pretending to be ATO saying you will be arrested to scare you into paying money.
An automated call claims calling from ato and says there a case lodged and if don't call back to the same number asap then an arrest warrant will be issued.
I just received a recorded message from 90136907 which claimed the ATO is just about to issue proceedings against me. I was instructed to ring back immediately to avoid the legal action. The recorded voice had an American accent. I will not be returning the call.
I just received a robo call from 03 9013 6907. The voice had an American accent. It claimed to be from the Australian Taxation Office and said that if I did not return the call to this number, there would be a warrant out for my arrest.
Obviously a dumb scam but some people might be frightened.
I will report the scam to the ATO.
