    This number called me seven times today without leaving a message. I answered the last call by saying "Fraud Squad", how can I help you". The caller immediately hung up. I think I can say 100% this is a scam caller.

    This pest constantly phones around once every hour. Six times today. Each time I have to drop what I'm doing to check the incoming phone number and each time my time is wasted.

    Have had several calls today from this number. Caller says he’s Larry Jones calling from State government. That’s when I hung up.

    Scam caller. Calls every couple of days. Either hangs up or tries to sell light globe replacements, posing as a representative from the Victorian Government Dept of Energy (which doesn’t exist!).

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
