    They called my wife and said they are from ATO and she may be arrested if she dosnt pay money.... Spamers be aware. Never pay them any sort of money. If in doubt, call the telephone number of ATO on their website and enquire.

    A male caller from Asia Origin, called me from this number saying he was from the Australian Taxation Office and asking for my details. I declined as the caller and phone number does not bear the features of the ATO.

    Phone scam. They left a voicemail spoken by a synthetic voice saying that if I don't call back on the number provided, a warrant for my arrest will be issued.

    Clearly a scam. I just received a call (which left a message) from this number claiming to have an arrest warrant which will be filed if I do not call back. It was an automated message (robot voice).

    Scam number. Tell you being lawsuited by ATO, and you need to contact them otherwise you will get arrested by a robot... Just block it and police need to do something about it!

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
