Absolute scam - but how do we stop them.
An obvious scam, its about a 200 dollar gift card purchased under your name from eBay, Got an indian accent and wants to refund your money via some app in playstore. He was informed by me that I felt he was F O S---T and I would track the phone number and he hung up!!!!!
(Don't think he has Worms, I just think he is one!!).
Confirming this is a scam as stated above.
SCAM! Caller claims they are eBay and that someone has accessed your account to buy a $199 gift card and asking you if you wish to cancel it. They leave a phone number on a message telling you to phone them back. When you call them back and tell them that you will call eBay customer care they get all flustered wanting you to cancel through them and give them your details. I phoned eBay customer care who assured me that I am correct in thinking it was a scam and that they do not phone their customers. These callers try to get your details to rob money from you! When people get these types of calls no matter if they say it’s from eBay or Amazon tell them you will contact the real customer care number on the site. Telstra should be taken to court for issuing these scammers phone numbers.
Received a robot call from 03 9005 7528, with a garbled message about e-bay. I called back and was told I’d purchased $199 Apple gift card and did I want to cancel. Long story short. They tried to get me to instal TeamViewer, I rather impolitely told them to go away. Another scam.
Appears to be some sort of scam. Robot message saying that my credit card would be charged $199. At that point I hung up.
Maybe preying on people to call the number back... Not sure, but definitely a scam.

Received an automoated message saying that I had purchased an iTunes gift card for $199 claiming that they were eBay, then the message ended and it hung up.
The first thing she told me was that she was going to hold the line to find my profile and not 2s later she came back and said that she had and immediately told me that she had cancelled and refunded me the money but before she could do finalise the process I had to "validate" it. I then asked where I was calling (I hadn't been able to get two words in between all her talking), she claimed she was from eBay and she said that she could see all my details in front of her, including my credit card AND bank account details - which eBay don't have, only my card. No purchases appeared in my eBay account and asked her to confirm the name of the profile she had in front of her, to which she answered that she could lose her job if she gave me any details.
Another of the questions was whether I was using Android or Apple. Then, she asked me to download the app called 'Teamviewer Quicksupport' which is an app where you can control a device remotely and has no link to eBay whatsoever. I then told her that I wasn't going to give her control of my phone and when I told her that I thought she was scamming me she hung up.
Robocall from this number about being charged $199 for Itunes vouchers on eBay. Definitely a scam call.
I received a call from this number today, automated message that wanted to inform me that $190 and some cents (can't recall the exact amount) had been charged to my eBay account credit card. Asked me if I would confirm this.
I hung up, checked online to see if anyone else had enjoyed a similar experience.
"eBay" said I had bought I Tune Girt cards and I said I wanted a verification sent to my eBay email address and "eBay" had to ask me what the email address was ROFL if they were from eBay when would know to its SCAM SCAM SDAM AND MORE SCAM.

Had a call from this number tonight. They left a message saying that my eBay was being debited with$199.99 for Apple gift card.
When I called back, with my phone number anonymized, I said that I missed a call from that number. He said, without knowing my number, that he would look it up.
About 3 seconds later he came back and told me the same as the message on my voice mail, re Apple gift card.
This must be tonights scam script.
He asked if I wanted to cancel the transaction, to which I sed yes.
He then asked if I gad an Android or Apple phone, and then said he would switch me over to their Apple server.
This sounded super dodgy for several reasons.
I do not recall ever opening an account with eBay, and when I tried logging in, it did not recognize any of my email addresses, even the very old ones that I may have used.
Further, I believe that If I had continued with the call, I would be asked for my credentials to confirm that I am genuine, therefore giving my details to them.
Also, I thought that a payment method would need to be attached to eBay, and if so, they would be invalid due to me changing my baking details in the last 12 months. I have not used eBay since those changes.
Say they are from eBay Help desk and have spotted suspicious activity on eBay account. Need to connect my mobile to their server and provide further details. I don't have an eBay account - this is a scam.
I am pretty sure it is a scam. Automated recording about debit from PayPal and will charge my credit card $149. I checked my PayPal and no such transaction. Be wary.

This is a scam people be careful! They call from 03 9005 7528 pretending to be PayPal & they ask if you want to authorize payment for a Coles giftcard $149??
It's an Indian lady but you can tell its routed through a VOIP system as her voice very distorted & sounds like a robot.
When I said I never bought a Coles giftcard & told her I'm sure this is scam she hung up. I also asked if this alleged purchase is in my PayPal & she said yes. Just checked now & nothing in my PP account.
