Telstra Impersonation Reports for 03 9003 4586

Five contributors have reported suspicious activity from 03 9003 4586 (also written as 0390034586), with a clear pattern of impersonation and technical information harvesting. The most common tactic involves callers claiming to represent Telstra and requesting the recipient's IP address, a classic tech support scam approach designed to gain remote access or trick victims into installing malware.

Two separate reports about 0390034586 specifically mention callers claiming to be from Telstra. One contributor noted the caller was persistent in requesting IP address information, while another described the entire interaction as "total scam." A third report indicates callers claimed to be a "legitimate operation" but refused to identify which state they were calling from, a red flag for fraudulent activity.

Robocall and Callback Trap Tactics from 03 9003 4586

One contributor who called 03 9003 4586 back (after hiding their own number) encountered a recorded message with a "weird accent male voice" instructing them to leave their name and number for callback. This is a known callback trap tactic - the initial missed call is designed to trigger curiosity, prompting the victim to call back and reveal their identity and phone number to scammers. The contributor noted the system did not actually allow leaving a message, suggesting it was purely a data-harvesting mechanism.

This robocall and callback request pattern indicates 0390034586 may be using automated systems to generate outbound calls and capture contact information from people who return the call, likely for later scam attempts or data sale.

Call Patterns and Contributor Experience

Of the five reports about 03 9003 4586, two were calls the contributor answered, two were missed calls, and one was a call the contributor initiated by calling back. The reports span from mid-January to early February 2026, suggesting ongoing activity from this number. Contributors who answered calls from 0390034586 reported immediate requests for sensitive information rather than any legitimate customer service dialogue. Those who saw missed calls from 03 9003 4586 took swift action - immediately blocking the number without investigating further - a sensible response given the scam pattern.
