Robocall and Silent Call Reports for 03 9002 4047

Fifteen contributors have reported suspicious activity from 03 9002 4047 (also written as 0390024047), with a clear pattern of robocalls and silent calls. The number is registered to Primus Telecommunications in Victoria as a local service, yet multiple contributors report that calling the number back results in a "not in service" message or complete disconnection. This mismatch between the registered service and the inability to reach anyone suggests the number may be spoofed or used for automated scam dialling.

The most distinctive pattern involves robocalls that either disconnect immediately when answered or deliver pre-recorded messages. Three separate reports specifically mention robocall activity from 0390024047, with one contributor describing a recorded survey asking personal financial details including age, mortgage amount, and name for an alleged winners draw. Another reported a recorded message that triggered concern about AI voice copying. One contributor who received a call from 03 9002 4047 didn't respond when answered, triggering an automated message callback attempt.

Silent Calls and Immediate Disconnections from 03 9002 4047

Silent call behaviour dominates the report pattern. Multiple contributors received calls from 03 9002 4047 where the caller hung up without speaking or leaving a voicemail. One contributor noted receiving three consecutive calls with no message, describing frustration that "if they can't be bothered to say who they are I'm not keen to chat." Another reported the phone flashed a red warning indicator during the missed call from 0390024047. Several contributors emphasise the repetitive nature - calls coming through multiple times over weeks or months, always with the same non-response pattern.

When contributors attempted to call back 0390024047, they consistently encountered disconnection messages or "number not in service" responses. This callback failure is significant because legitimate service providers can always be reached at their listed number. The consistent disconnection experience across multiple reports strengthens the likelihood that 03 9002 4047 is being used for unauthorised dialling rather than legitimate outbound contact.

Report Patterns and Timing

Reports span from June 2024 through November 2025, indicating sustained activity from this number over more than a year. The timing shows no obvious clustering - calls have arrived during business hours (one during a meeting in mid-morning), during work time, and outside standard business windows. Most contributors received calls via missed call alerts rather than answering, suggesting the calls may be automated batch dialling with no human operator on the line.

The geographic pattern is notable because multiple contributors report that "other folks in the area complaining about it too," indicating 03 9002 4047 may be targeting specific regions. The local service registration to Victoria aligns with this, though the spoofed or disconnected nature means callers could be reaching anyone nationwide.

What to Do If You Receive a Call from 03 9002 4047

If 03 9002 4047 calls you:

  • Do: Let it go to voicemail, block the number immediately in your phone settings, and do not engage if it's a silent call
  • Robocall specific: Hang up immediately if you hear a recorded message, do not press any numbers or respond to prompts, do not provide personal information like age, mortgage details, or name
  • If you accidentally answer: Do not speak, do not confirm you're there, hang up and block the number

I just received a call from this number. At the end it sounded suspect hence the reason I have looked it up. I generally do avoid any unidentified calls and this one I answered and didn't say anything and that is when the recorded message came in. This is concerning especially with AI and copying voices. Thank you for your information as it has reminded me that you can never be too careful.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does calling back 03 9002 4047 say the number isn't in service?

Multiple contributors calling back 0390024047 report getting "not in service" or disconnection messages. This suggests the number may be spoofed (using a fake number) or is being used temporarily for automated dialling. Legitimate businesses always maintain working callback numbers - if you can't reach anyone, it's a red flag that 03 9002 4047 isn't actually connected to a real service.

Is 03 9002 4047 definitely a scam?

While not every call is confirmed as scam, the pattern from 0390024047 is highly suspicious: robocalls that disconnect immediately, silent calls with no voicemail, and callback failure. One contributor did encounter a survey robocall asking personal financial details, which is typical scam behaviour. The combination of robocall activity and inability to verify the caller makes 03 9002 4047 unsafe to engage with.

What should I do if I already answered the survey from 03 9002 4047?

If you provided personal information like age, mortgage details, or name to the robocall from 0390024047, monitor your accounts for suspicious activity and consider changing passwords. You may also wish to contact your bank or financial institution to alert them. Report the call to Scamwatch at scamwatch.gov.au and ACMA at acma.gov.au with details of what information you shared.

Why do I keep receiving repeated calls from 03 9002 4047?

Several contributors reported multiple calls from 0390024047 over weeks or months. Robocalls often target numbers in batches or repeatedly if they get no response, since automated systems don't know if a number is active or disconnected. Blocking 03 9002 4047 on your phone should stop most repeat attempts. If calls persist after blocking, you may need to enable more aggressive spam filtering through your phone provider.

Is 03 9002 4047 really registered to Primus Telecommunications?

The number 0390024047 shows as registered to Primus Telecommunications as a local service in Victoria, but this registration may not be accurate. Number spoofing means scammers can make calls appear to come from any number, including legitimate businesses. The fact that calling back 03 9002 4047 doesn't connect to Primus or anyone else suggests the number isn't actually being used by the registered provider.

Should I report this to Primus Telecommunications?

You can contact Primus Telecommunications to report that their number 0390024047 is being used for scam calls, though this may have limited impact if the number has been spoofed. Your more effective action is reporting to ACMA at acma.gov.au, Scamwatch at scamwatch.gov.au, and blocking 03 9002 4047 on your phone. These actions help protect other Australians and create the official record needed to take action against spoofed calling.
