The call from 03 8843 7718 (a spoofed number) played a recorded voice message, supposedly from Telstra, informing me that I have activated my Telstra plan and that $99.99 would be deducted from my bank account. When I pressed "1" to speak to an assistant to confirm or cancel, a man with an Indian-type accent answered and introduced himself as Kevin.
I have had nothing to do with Telstra for over 15 years.
