    Scammers. Posing as a third party for electric companies, stating rates. They said to answer some questions, like what's my post code and drivers licence number. BLOCK.

    I just got a phone call from this number. Obviously a telemarketer or scam I don't care enough to find out. Being the number starts with 03 I don't answer.

    Just had a call from them. Asked me to answer some questions yes or no about electrity usage and discounts. I answered no to 2 questions, then he wants me to confirm my Postal code and gave him one from South Africa. Then he starts asking if I'm a pensioner and I said no and that I don't want to answer more of his questions, as he sounds like a scammer and he hung up.

    Received missed call from this number twice and when called back, a recorded message indicates that it is to discuss electricity rates. It was a call I didn't expect nor want. I guess it's just some telemarketer.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
