    This number called me 12 times today. I was in meetings and I'd recorded it in my contacts as a spam number, so I didn't answer. The 12th time I answered intending just to tell them to cut it out; it hung up as soon as I answered. I then remembered I have never had anything but hang-up calls from this number, it's why I'd recorded them as spam in the first place. Appears to be a technologically dysfunctional call-centre. I'll now block it.

    Calls to my mobile but hangs up as I answer. This happens several times over last week or two. Today they speak - wanting to "reunite" me with some money. They want to confirm I am the correct person. They even relate one of my past addresses.5 min later they call again on my home phone (silent number). They were to remove my numbers from their system. Well, just 5 hours later they calling again.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
