Just received a call from an Indian claiming to be from Amazon and that unauthorised purchases have been made, since I knew it was a scam I told them I don’t have an Amazon account but they kept insisting I did, I told them this call was being recorded and then they hung up.
Just received a call from 'Amazon' saying my account had been compromised and someone from Germany was trying to make a purchase which they had put on hold as a suspected fraudulent purchase. I was then sent a text from ALEXA - on the same text history as all other legitimate Amazon texts. While still being skeptical I was transferred to 'accounts' where I was asked to give my card details to 'put it on the server to protect future payments.' I challenged as to why this was necessary, she challenged me back, I said how do I know this is not a scam, she said how would I have all your info, I said but what if you are the hacker. After a while of trying to convince me she was not I said I am not giving her my card details and she hung up on me. Contacted Amazon myself and they said they had not contacted me...BEWARE!

Pretending to work for both Visa and Mastercard (assured me they were the same company:)) and had detected unauthorised transactions on my card (actually gave me a totally different name but I went along for the ride). Wanted to know the name of my bank and was then going to put me through to the headoffice of my bank so I could cancel the transactions. I gave a phony bank name and hung up whilst he was transferring me.
