    Getting calls from slightly different variants of the same number they hang up after two or three rings in the hope you'll ring back.

    Had a call from this number. Lady with Indian accent called 'Sharon' greeted me by my 1st name in regards to my landline and broadband. She said she was from One Dial.... Which I've never heard of. I don't have a landline or broadband and told her so. I asked her to remove me from her contact list. I don't know how they got my mobile phone number to contact me .

    Just had this number call me. On a Saturday afternoon Grrr. A guy with an Indian accent called me by my first name and told me I was with Optus. Both correct. I told him I had a contract and he said good good stay with Optus then hung up. I used my phone for business so I need to answer it. Wish I didn't. Scammers.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
