SCAMMER who pretend to be taxation office worker, read out a "police warrant" against you for tax evasion. They not going to explain any reasons why you get charge because they are "workers" who call you to read out the charges only, it is their investigating team who charge you. They will stir fear in you and kindly give you two options.
One options is to legally fight against them and pay a 97k fines if you lose the case, as for the 2nd option, they will "kindly" offer you to settle out side court if you pay your "tax". If you chose 2nd option, the scam begin.... They will "assist" you to pay by some gift cards, the reason behind this is you can pay anonymously and there will be no bad credit record left behind in the record of the taxation office(sounds like they really care of you).
They are try to confuse you when you feel panic. Don't buy into it, good luck!
Called a few times in the last few weeks. Finally got to phone in time and answered to have a girl with an australian accent "well she's not a nice mum is she?" and hung up.

Called twice in 3 days. Missed the first one and tried to call back unsuccessfully.2nd call I answered and what appeared to be a woman/girl said "Cold today wouldn't you say!". Then hung up..

I just answered a call from this number. They are from Cigma financial group calling about tax incentives. She asked if I worked full time and was a home owner - I lied and said No! End of phone call.

Had been receiving missed calls from this number all week. They never left a message and when I called back it was always met with hold music and never answered.
They finally got hold of me at around 7:30PM last night. It was an English accented gentleman, who was reasonably pleasant. Appeared to be reading from a script because when I pushed him for answers he would often hesitate.
He kept telling me that they can give me financial advice that my accountant is unable to. When I told him that was likely rubbish as my accountant is a CPA, he kept reminding me he is just letting people know.

Apparently the company is call sigma financial. They have a website and are in St Kilda, but I doubt the legitimacy of them if they have resort to these tactics. Unsure if you could call it a 'scam,' but something definitely smells fishy.

Just got a phone call from this number and they are very professional. They are based in VIC and all speak good English. I answered and made the appointment because it sounded reasonable and because it was from an Australian number.

My son received a call from this number today offering a tax rebate on his mortgage ;) he put them on to me and they hung up, I rang back and said my son received a call from this number but got cut off, the guy who answered said sorry it must of been a wrong number, I hung up, googled the number and seen what has been written here so I decided to call back, the same guy answered and I said that my son had been recieving calls from this number and I wanted to know what it was about, sure enough he started to tell me how they could get me a tax rebate! I said ok so basically it's a scam?? He starting laughing and saying you are very clever aren't you? I said yes and take my sons number off the call list, he continued to laugh and jeer me, I told him never to call the number again, he contributed to laugh, I asked do you understand English? He said of course I do I'm not the one thats from ireland!! I called him a racist idiot and hung up.

They insist on making an appointment for somebody to visit your house and sell you investment property and / or scam money out of you they claim they will invest. Tell them you are on the do not call register.
Had this number call tonight at 6.57pm. I answered and they tried to pronounce our surname and then hung up. He sounded English speaking. Although I have registered with the "Do Not Call" register we are still getting these types of calls. I am going to report it as a nuisance caller once I receive three calls of this nature from the same number.
