03 8560 4214: Suspicious Scammer Posing as Roy Morgan Research

I missed a call that rang for only one second. When I called the number back three times, the message I received said that the number is "unavailable right now."

As a former telemarketer, I recognized the typical scripted introduction from this caller. When I politely requested to be added to their Do Not Call (DNC) list, they should have complied legally and ended the call. Instead, the caller rudely asked me "Why?". This behavior is against the law and should be reported.

This caller is pretending to be from the Roy Morgan Research group and is attempting to collect personal information from you. Be cautious, as they may sell your details to other parties.

I asked "on whose behalf are you conducting this research and making recommendations" three more times, with "we are just conducting short research" as the response. I asked the caller if he just woke up this morning and decided to randomly call people to conduct research or if his company had been commissioned or engaged to provide research on behalf of a client - and if so, WHO is the client? The caller hung up on me.
