What Our Users Reviewed
I received a call from someone claiming to be from the national emergency helpline. Scammers are increasingly using misleading terminology to trick people these days. It's very alarming and needs to be addressed!
I received a robocall claiming to be from Amazon, stating that a credit card charge would be processed today. They prompted me to press 1 to speak with an operator. However, I do not have an active Amazon account, so I clearly recognize this as a scam call.
The number you see displayed on your phone is probably spoofed so all you are doing is blocking a spoofed number. Also, I don't believe that these actors access the Do Not Call register first!:}
I answered it, although the number looks scammish.
Overseas lady wanting to speak to Lorraine. I had a call for Lorraine from a different number yesterday.
Told her not to call this number and take it off her list.
She said, do you want to hear what I am calling about, and I said, no, I am not Lorraine.
Then she hung up.
They left a voicemail that only said "Hello, Hello." Frustrated, I blocked my number and called them back 30 times. These scammers are really getting on my nerves!
I had a similar call where they asked if I would be home tomorrow for the installation of an Energy Saving Monitor. It felt very inappropriate and suspicious.
Surprisingly, this company is legitimate. They installed a showerhead that turned out to be entirely plastic and of poor quality, although it was offered for free.
I am receiving calls from this number daily, sometimes multiple times a day. It is incredibly frustrating. I wonder what the purpose of the “Do Not Call Register” is if we continuously receive these intrusive calls!
This call was likely a scam. I could hear an individual speaking with an Indian accent, and as soon as I discerned this, I chose to hang up, as it felt dubious.
Refuse to pick up this call. It did not leave message too. Nowadays I usually not to accept any unknown call. Better let the caller leave message.
I answered this call first time and had trouble understanding her as she had a heavy accent. It’s a marketing agency so I ended up hanging up. They rang back 4 times so I blocked the call and then they rang again. I don’t know how that is possible after I blocked their number.
Called 9 times in the last 2 days. Never leaves a message.
Received several calls. Never spoke to anyone just gonna block them.
Called claiming to be from a state government agency wanting to install “free water saving shower heads”
I hung up after that.
They tried calling me again today but I’ve blocked the number.
Interstate unsolicited scam call. Spoofed Caller ID.
**SCAM SCAM SCAM**
This number called me twice, however, knowing this is a scammer I did not answer.
This number calls me every day but never leaves a message, which is increasingly frustrating.
I received an unsolicited scam phone call from an interstate number that had a spoofed caller ID, making it seem legitimate.
Received a call today (29th March). Caller new my name and identified themself as from an unknown company (Green...something) in a heavy South Asian accent. The call then disconnected. I blocked the number and looked it up, finding this site.
Called at 3 pm Friday 25.03.2022 telling me that the government would be sending someone out to my house for free tomorrow to install an in home display as they already had a technician in the area. They then asked for my address which seemed fishy considering they must already know where I am if they know there's a tech in the area? The only thing they could confirm was that I lived in xxxx postcode (which was an old postcode anyway!)
I looked up the government in home display program which is a rebated program and the government page includes all the accredited providers for my area. I spent almost 10 minutes on the phone with this human who couldn't tell me what company they work for and when they finally said 'Energy Money Savings' and I confirmed that that company was not an accredited service - they kept trying to convince me the government is sending out something for free and I was 'missing out', that the government had given them the right to just install these displays for free and I just needed to confirm my address.
Eventually, they hung up on me, clearly knowing it wasn't getting any where. I hope I kept them on call long enough to prevent someone else getting caught.
A caller contacted me but did not leave any message. I suspect this might have been a scam call.
