    Got called by these people today, as already mentioned, they claim that they are from a company called Green Energy with regards to replacing downlights to LED.

    It clearly felt like an Indian call centre. The consultant told me that they have no website and that their callback number is the one listed here, which is actually a disconnected number.

    I too am on the Do Not Call Register and have reported this officially.

    I have had just one call where I picked up the receiver as have caller ID and if I don't recognise the number, I don't answer these days. However, woman with Indian accent from Green Energy insisted I listen to her about changing over LED lights even though I told her I was having it done in March. She gave me the third degree re was it govt supported, was it free, how many downlights did I have, were they dimmable etc etc. When I got sick of listening to her and told her I wasn't interested, I hung up. Good try, though!

    Indian call centre, takes about 10 seconds for them to respond after you answer.

    Calling about changing halogen downlights to LED for free.

    Asks is someone has already done this for you?

    Simply said that I have already replaced them with LEDs and they hang-up. :-).

    Called our number today and didn't speak. I called it back three times and it cancelled the call after a long number of rings.

    Someone keeps calling from this number to my home phone daily. Does not leave a message, but it's very distressing as I am night shift and it wakes me up during the day.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
