Robocall and Callback Scam Reports for 03 8420 6389

Three contributors have reported calls from 03 8420 6389 (also written as 0384206389), describing an automated robocall system designed to trigger callback responses. The dominant pattern involves a fully automated system that ignores the Do Not Call Register entirely. One contributor notes the caller operates outside Australia, which explains why domestic regulations have no effect on their behaviour.

The tactics are deliberate and persistent. According to reports about 0384206389, the system relies on getting victims to answer and engage with scripted content. One contributor explicitly warns that the criminals behind 03 8420 6389 have no legitimate business purpose - their sole objective is to capture a callback or voice response that confirms the number reaches a live person.

How the Robocall from 03 8420 6389 Works

The automated system calling from 03 8420 6389 is designed to ring repeatedly until the victim answers. Once answered, a script plays, attempting to convince the target to follow instructions or provide information. The callback request element means the scammers are also trying to get victims to return the call, which then routes to their criminal operation.

One detailed report about 0384206389 explains that any response - answering, cancelling, or going to voicemail - registers as engagement in the scammer's database. The contributor emphasises this is a numbers game: the more people who engage, the more viable targets the operation identifies for follow-up exploitation.

Persistence and Harassment Pattern

Contributors report that 03 8420 6389 calls constantly and will not respect requests to remove the number from call lists. One person described the behaviour as "very annoying, bordering on harassment," while another noted the calls are relentless despite being on the Do Not Call Register.

The persistence is intentional. Since 0384206389 operates from outside Australia with no legitimate business registration, the Do Not Call Register has zero enforcement power. The system is programmed to keep calling the same numbers repeatedly until victims eventually respond out of frustration or curiosity.

What to Do If You Receive a Call from 03 8420 6389

One contributor provides clear, tested advice on handling calls from 03 8420 6389:

  • Do not: Answer the call, return the call, cancel the call, or let it go to voicemail with an audible message
  • Do: Let it ring out silently without any response; this registers as "no reaction" in the scammer's database and lowers the priority of 0384206389 targeting you
  • Block the number: Add 03 8420 6389 to your phone's blocked contacts list to prevent future calls
  • Never engage: Any form of engagement (speaking, pressing keys, leaving a voicemail) confirms the number reaches a person and increases callback attempts

The strategy works because these robocall operations are volume-based. If 0384206389 receives no reaction from your number, it drops down their priority list. Over time, with no engagement, calls from 03 8420 6389 will decrease, though they may not stop entirely.

What to Do If You Accidentally Answer a Call from 03 8420 6389

  • Hang up immediately: Do not listen to any script or follow any instructions
  • Do not press any keys: Key presses are recorded as engagement
  • Do not speak: Even saying "hello" or "stop calling" confirms a live person answered
  • Block the number right after: Add 03 8420 6389 to your blocked contacts list immediately after disconnecting

How to Report 03 8420 6389

  • Reverseau: Add your experience with 03 8420 6389 to help other Australians identify this robocall operation
  • Your phone provider: Telstra (the provider for this local service number) may be able to block 0384206389 at the network level if enough reports are made

If this number keeps calling then do not answer it. It's a totally automated system, there is NOTHING you can say that makes them stop. Despite being on the Do Not Call Register they call anyway because they are not in Australia, they're not a legitimate business and all they want is to get you to answer to listen to some stupid script, which you're supposed to fall for so they can rob you.

The way to get them stop harassing you is never answer, never react at all, which also means don't cancel the call, don't go to voice mail, just let it ring out so they record No Reaction on their database, and you become a lower priority. But it will take time. NEVER pick up or speak to them, you know they're criminals so there is no benefit to you in talking to them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does 03 8420 6389 keep calling even though I'm on the Do Not Call Register?

According to community reports, 0384206389 operates outside Australia as a criminal enterprise, not a legitimate business. The Do Not Call Register only has authority over Australian-based telemarketing. Since the robocall system operates internationally, they ignore the register entirely. Blocking and not engaging are your only effective defences against 03 8420 6389.

What happens if I answer a call from 0384206389?

One contributor explains that answering 03 8420 6389 triggers a recorded script designed to manipulate you into following instructions or providing information. More importantly, it registers your number as reaching a live person in the scammer's database, which increases callback attempts from 0384206389. This is why not answering is so effective.

Should I let calls from 03 8420 6389 go to voicemail?

No. A detailed report about 0384206389 warns that voicemail activation is still a form of engagement. Letting the call ring out completely without any system engagement is more effective. The robocall from 03 8420 6389 records no response as "no reaction" and deprioritises your number.

Is it safe to press a key to remove myself from calls from 0384206389?

No. Contributors report that 03 8420 6389 uses callback requests to capture any form of engagement, including key presses. Pressing any key - even to "opt out" - confirms your number is active and monitored. The safest approach is complete non-engagement with 0384206389.

How long does it take for 03 8420 6389 calls to stop?

According to one contributor's experience, if you never answer or engage with 0384206389, the calls will gradually decrease as your number drops down the scammer's priority list. However, because the robocall system is international and fully automated, it may take weeks or months. Blocking 03 8420 6389 at the network level is the fastest solution.

Can I report 0384206389 to Telstra or my phone provider?

Yes. The number 03 8420 6389 is listed as a Telstra local service number in Victoria. Contact Telstra directly and report the international robocall activity. If enough customers report 0384206389, Telstra may block it at the network level. You can also report to ACMA at acma.gov.au with specific dates and times of calls from 03 8420 6389.
