    Same as many other people im getting weekly calls from this number. Hangs up when you say hello, cant call it back as number isn't connected when you try to ring it. Computer generated call by telemarketers no doubt, really annoying.

    Same voice as Energy Compare rang me on another number yesterday. Asked directly for my name which annoyed me as I don't know how they got my name. Energy Compare did the same thing asking for me by name. That is why I know it is them.

    Robotcaller. Checking to see if you number is real so they can sell it to spammers to scam you with 'cheap electricity/gas/other crap' offers.

    Avoid.

    Probably a nuisance caller - didn't leave a message when given the opportunity upon reaching "message-bank".

    Rings at any time, but mostly mid afternoon. Hangs up a few seconds after you say "hello". Rings several times a week but I do not know why, or who. I cannot work out what scam they may be running, or if they are nuisance calls for no reason.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
