    Automated voice stating 'this is a confirmation call from me bank' hung up before their little spiel could finish and blocked. Losers.

    Scam - saying they were AEG (presume they meant AGL) and I was connected to them previously as my electricity supplier.

    This number called and said my phone would be disconnected in 2 hours. The call came from something sounding like diverse technology.. This is a scam number and don't answer it.. Or call back because you will be placed in a cue and when you get to caller number 5 they will hang up on you. Pass the word around and make these scum pay for it. Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
