    Thank you for comment us know I see other comments, it must be energy rates just now 6.10pm Friday 23rd August 2019.

    They rang my mum mobile phone number. That's why I disconnect my home phone number for long time, but home phone number still active and we pay phone bill $90 monthly with internet our number are still silents and not shown on the white telstra page phone book. We fed up from telemarketing. Other woman told me her mobile phone always received 2 to 3 telemarketing phone calls a weekly as average she told me not this number, could be many other telemarketing different numbers.

    Not Sure maybe eBay or PayPal may given your number to the telemarketing companies or your electricity bill company may share your number to others.

    Calling about changes to energy rates. Couldn’t understand what company was calling even after I asked them to repeat it a number of times. Called me twice yesterday and twice today even though I told them to put my number on the Do Not Call register. When they called again tonight I said I was reporting their company. He said 'no no madam, I'm deleting your number now'. So let's see if they do.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
