Received a phone call on mobile saying my bank account had been closed for non payment of taxes and that if I did not call them they would issue a warrant for my arrest. When I called them back on my home phone the number sounded like a fax machine.
Received a call and a recorded message when I answered on Sat 30/4/17. The recorded message indicated that I had not paid tax. Perversely coincidental as when I called back they told me I had not replied to correspondence in Feb, about the same time I had an issue with ATO. The male on the phone also had my name and PO Box address. Fortunately I didn't have access to my tax file No., which was requested, as I probably would have given it to him. Got annoyed with the male when he said that a summons had been sent to my PO Box (the same one they got a NOT KNOWN reply from) and I hung up to chase up in person.
I received a call from this number on a Sat morning Sydney time, When I picked up a message said that I have been delinquent in my tax filing and that a warrant will be issued and I will be arrested. I was very worried and I hope there is a way this operation can be stopped.
As I was having a crap day usually on the ball with this crap. Well gave them my TFN he knew my full name.
Reported to The REAL ATO, contacted my banks, did a online report to ACorn, also contacting police to report.
Can't believe I was so stupid and not on the ball yesterday.

This freaked me out and couldn't understand how thats possible, but thought to check the number as it was strange that it was a recorded message that sounds so robotic. As I know my tax is fully up to date, this has to be a scam. Within minutes of the call I received an email stating I had a speeding fine and need pay $220 .............. As I do not drive again this is spam, I am sure these are linked.
