Same as above; claimed to be from the tax office, said a warrant will be issued for my arrest and that his name we as James Anderson (sounded like he had an accent).
Got a call this afternoon from someone who said to contact James Anderson from the ATO and they had received a complaint about me relating to tax evasion/avoidance. When I called back the phone was engaged.
REcieved same voice mail - going to police and reporting this number- threatening and intimidating behaviour via a carriage!
I got a call from James Anderson about an hour and half ago. He left a message similar to the ones mentioned here informing me the ATO had received a legal complaint under my name regarding tax evasion/avoidance and threatened me with arrest.
I did call back but the phone was either engaged or there was no answer.
Just had a missed call from this number. Left a message saying, they have received a legal complaint under my name regarding tax evasion!!! Doesn't say who called or to even call back. This number is not listed for any ATO office in Australia. Report to ATO if you get this call.

I got a call from this number earlier today. When I rang ir back got weird engaged signal. Got thru a few minutes ago, missed the name of the male, and where he worked. Anyway told him got a missed call, he asked my name. I said where do you work and he said Australian Tax office. Ears pricked up then. He sais something about papers being filed against mt name. (Didn't ask any other identifiable details to find me) I asjed him fir his log on details fie the ato. Told me he didn't need to give them. I told him he did, he flustered, I told him he'd picked the wrong person, lol. He hung up.
This guy is a fraud. If anyone can find out his whereabouts please post it. I have reported this to the taxation office which the number is 1800 008 540 and file the report right away.
Just rang these clowns back and they kept hanging up on me... When I asked the person his name (obviously indian) he said michael brown. ..when I said I was going to call the ombudsman and the police s.o.b.hung up again. ..twice he answered with just a tentative hello and 3 times with ato and twice with australian taxation office... BE AWARE...DO NOT GIVE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION!!! SCAM !!!!

I have been left a message from that number also saying that he is from the ATO and there is a warrant for my arrest. This guy had an Asian accent. They are also leaving messages on my home phone number. Don't know how they have made the connection. These scammers should go out and get a real job!
Received a call from James Anderson saying there ia legal action about tax avoidance and to return the call before a warrant is issued for my arrest. And ti not ignore this call.. Well gueas what James I won't be calling you back.
Yep "James Anderson" on the hunt again. Recorded call said I have tax outstanding & to call back on the number before a warren was issued for my arrest. Come arrest me I say, my tax is up to date lol. Block this number or don't answer.

A James Anderson just called my mobile from this number, he had an American accent and said he was from the Tax Office. He said he was investigating me for tax fraud and evasion, he pretty much demanded that I call him back on said number.
After googling this number it appears to be a scam, and I won't be calling him back.
Yep. tax scam. Have twice rung me to give me a "last warning" before the tax office issues a warrant for my arrest. Had same thing last year. The tax office don't do this sort of nonsense.
