    I just received a call on my moblie from this number but there was no answer. The landline rang shortly after but I did not answer when I saw the number. I thought if it's important they will leave a message but they didn't. The number has now been blocked.

    From the 4th Jan-7th Jan I have recieved calls from this number totalling 15calls so far.... I had returned call today (having had to block number as it is getting ridiculous) just to see who it was & its actually a Foxtel Call Centre Number. I was placed on hold & put through to a female representative. This woman was pushing me to provide my name and details- which I declined & requested to speak to a supervisor to lodge a complaint instead. The woman then changed her tune, she hummed&harred for a while & then announced that the number I had contacted her on did not "come up on the database"& she wasn't sure what was happening. She also did not provide a direct answer when I had asked if it was a Foxtel Number. This number will continue to remain blocked on my phone, too sketchy & very much an invasion of my privacy/ unwanted telemarketing at its finest.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
