    Nuisance caller. Don't answer their call. They will never leave a message. Others have identified this number as part of a scam. Best thing to do is to block them altogether.

    Foxtel accounts. If you tell them immediately that you are cancelling your service, you get transferred to an Australian operator. Regardless of what you want.

    This number called the landline. When the answering machine took over there was the familiar brief noise you get from call centres before hanging up. Then the mobile rang with the same number displayed. When answered there was no response... They hung up as soon as it was answered. I have learnt from this site that it is Foxtel. We stopped paying because we did not want Foxtel anymore. Seems that they keep charging until you explain why??

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
