Symbio Networks Spam Reports for 03 7305 2178

One contributor has reported calls from 03 7305 2178 (also written as 0373052178) originating from Symbio Networks Pty Ltd, a Victorian-based provider. The key concern raised is that this number is being used to contact people on registered Silent phone lists - a heightened privacy violation that goes beyond standard Do Not Call Register breaches.

The contributor notes that Symbio has a history of regulatory enforcement action, with the ACCC having previously fined the company. Despite this, the company continues operating and appears to be using spoofed numbers from different Victorian locations, including Craigieburn, to bypass existing blocks on their known numbers.

Spoofing and Number Masking Tactics from 0373052178

The pattern described suggests deliberate number spoofing - where Symbio Networks uses different phone numbers to circumvent blocks placed on their primary contact lines. The contributor reports that after blocking a Lara-based number associated with the company, calls continued from 03 7305 2178 using a Craigieburn prefix.

What makes this behaviour particularly problematic is that the contributor's phone number is registered as a Silent number - a formal registration that provides enhanced privacy protection beyond the standard Do Not Call Register. Receiving calls from 0373052178 on a Silent number indicates either deliberate circumvention of privacy protections or systematic failure to honour registered privacy preferences.

This company is blocked using a Lara based number, now their spoofing Craigieburn numbers.

Symbio is nothing more than a scamming nightmare.

ACCC has fined them, they keep going. Block, report, repeat.

Worse part, my number is a registered Silent number. Not just a DO NOT CALL number, a legitimate Silent number.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is 03 7305 2178 calling a Silent number when it should be blocked?

Symbio Networks appears to be using number spoofing - masking calls through different phone numbers (like 0373052178) to bypass existing blocks. Silent numbers provide enhanced privacy, but they don't automatically prevent spoofed calls. The contributor's experience suggests systematic circumvention rather than accidental contact. Report this breach to the ACMA, as calling Silent numbers violates telecommunications regulations.

What is a Silent number and how does 0373052178 differ from regular Do Not Call?

A Silent number (sometimes called 'Silent line' or 'Unlisted number') is a formal privacy registration through your phone provider that removes your number from directory listings and should prevent telemarketing entirely. The Do Not Call Register is broader but less restrictive. If 03 7305 2178 is calling a Silent number, it's a more serious breach indicating either targeted contact or database matching from illegitimate sources.

Has Symbio Networks been fined before for this behaviour with 03 7305 2178?

Yes, according to the contributor, the ACCC has previously fined Symbio Networks. Despite enforcement action, the company continues contacting people, now through different phone numbers including 0373052178. This pattern suggests either inadequate compliance follow-up or deliberate evasion. You can check ACCC enforcement history at accc.gov.au and report ongoing breaches.

Should I block 03 7305 2178 or report it first?

Do both. Immediately block 0373052178 in your phone's contact list to prevent future calls. Then report the call to the ACMA and your telecommunications provider with details about the spoofing pattern, the date and time of the call, and your Silent or Do Not Call registration status. Blocking protects you; reporting creates evidence of ongoing breaches.

How can Symbio Networks use different numbers like 03 7305 2178 if they're already blocked?

This is number spoofing - callers can use technology to display any number on your caller ID while the actual source is different. The contributor's experience with Lara and Craigieburn numbers suggests Symbio is either using multiple legitimate lines or spoofing local Victorian numbers to appear regional and avoid triggering spam filters. Report each variant to help identify the pattern.

What should I do if I've already answered a call from 0373052178?

Hang up immediately if you receive another call from 03 7305 2178. Do not provide any personal information, bank details, or confirm your name or address. If you already shared information, contact your bank and the ACCC for guidance. Block the number and report it to the ACMA. Consider reviewing your phone provider's privacy settings and confirm your Silent number registration is active.
