Someone called from this number, claiming to be from the national bank. I suspect this is a scam, as it seems like a clear attempt to impersonate a reputable entity for fraudulent purposes.

PayPal scam call.

Female with Indian or African accent called me from PayPal security.

Claimed that someone had hacked into my PayPal account to purchase Bitcoin for $349.99.

I could hear a lot of loud chatter in the background.

Called herself Rose.

Told me I needed to verify my email address so that they could stop the “hacker”

I told her it should be on my file and she replied “yes I know that, you need to verify for me”

I said “do you even know my name?”

She replied “yes, but you need to also verify that”

I said “no, if you are from PayPal security you should have that info”

She then started screaming am me and said she had sent an email to me (god knows what email address as I don’t have PayPal) and also a text message.

She said both had links I needed to follow.

She then screamed that it was important I followed her instructions if I wanted them to block the fraudulent charge.

I hung up and blocked - don’t even have PayPal and never have.
