The caller claimed to be from Telstra, stating that they were receiving repeated errors with my internet service. However, I don’t use Telstra, so I ended the call immediately as it seemed fraudulent.
I got a call from someone claiming to be from Amazon. The background was very noisy, and they informed me that my Amazon membership had expired, asking for £7.99 to renew. When I mentioned that I'm in Australia and use Australian dollars, they abruptly hung up.
This looks to be a scammer pretending to be from PayPal. He wanted the verification code to reset my account.
For the past three days, I have received multiple calls from this number and various similar numbers, all starting with 03 7076 13. None of the callers left a message, and because of this pattern, I’ve decided to block them as it seems suspicious.
The caller informed me that there were unauthorized overseas transactions made with my debit card.
