Disconnected Number Scam Reports for 03 7075 1980

Eight contributors have flagged 03 7075 1980 (also written as 0370751980) as suspicious or scam activity. What makes this Melbourne number particularly unusual is that multiple contributors attempting to call back 0370751980 reached a "not in service" message, despite receiving calls from it. This pattern suggests the number may be spoofed or temporarily activated for outbound calls only, a common scam tactic.

The reports span from October 2025 to February 2026, with the most recent activity in early February. Contributors characterise calls from 03 7075 1980 as either scam attempts or highly suspicious in nature, with two reports explicitly flagged as confirmed scams.

What Callers from 03 7075 1980 Did

One contributor who answered a call from 03 7075 1980 reported hearing a pre-recorded message before hanging up immediately. When they attempted to call back the number, they received a disconnected message, confirming the line appears to be out of service. Another contributor answered the call, checked the number online and found negative reports, then tried calling back with their ID blocked but also reached "not in service."

Several contributors received missed calls from 0370751980 with no voicemail left behind. Those who attempted callbacks consistently reported the number as disconnected. One contributor noted the call "felt a bit off" and gave them "scam vibes" despite being unable to fully confirm details. The combination of unanswered incoming calls matched with an unavailable return line is a recognised pattern in spoofing scams.

Report Patterns and Timing

Of the eight reports for 03 7075 1980, four were missed calls, three were answered calls, and one was both answered and then a callback attempt. The reports cluster across four months, with no clear escalation pattern but consistent activity. Two reports explicitly identified the number as a scam, four marked it as uncertain, and two as suspicious.

One contributor specifically noted the number as a Melbourne local service, which aligns with the allocation data showing 03 7075 1980 is registered to a Victoria-based provider. The fact that a supposedly local Melbourne number is disconnected or not accepting return calls is a significant red flag that suggests number spoofing or abuse of the service allocation.

Why This Number Pattern is Concerning

The combination of incoming calls from 03 7075 1980 paired with a disconnected return line strongly suggests number spoofing. Scammers typically use temporary or spoofed numbers to avoid detection and accountability. The pre-recorded message reported by one contributor is also consistent with robocall scam patterns. The fact that this number is allocated to a legitimate provider (Symbio Networks) but appears non-functional suggests either provider compromise, number hijacking, or deliberate abuse of the allocation.

I received a missed call from 03 7075 1980 on 7th of may 2026. No message was left and my phone was in my car so l didn’t even hear it ring. Only writing a review to let people know it’s clearly being used still as a time frame of around 4 months was being indicated in the write up. The number they called is a private number and only known to a few people so they have no right calling it. I’ll be blocking it now.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does 03 7075 1980 say 'not in service' when I try to call back?

Multiple contributors have reported the same experience with 0370751980 - incoming calls but a disconnected number when attempting callbacks. This pattern is typical of spoofed numbers, where scammers use temporary or hijacked phone numbers for outbound calls only. The number may be configured to receive incoming calls but not accept return calls, or it may be completely fake. Do not attempt repeated callbacks to 03 7075 1980.

I heard a pre-recorded message from 03 7075 1980. What should I do?

One contributor reported a pre-recorded message from 03 7075 1980 before hanging up. Pre-recorded messages from unknown numbers are a common scam tactic. Hang up immediately without listening to the full message or pressing any buttons. Do not respond to the call, and block 0370751980 in your phone settings. These robocalls are designed to identify active phone numbers for targeted scam campaigns.

Is 03 7075 1980 a real Melbourne number?

While 03 7075 1980 is allocated as a local Melbourne service (Victoria), the fact that multiple contributors cannot reach it and it appears 'not in service' suggests it may be spoofed or temporarily activated for outbound scam calls only. Legitimate businesses maintain functional return lines. The allocation data shows it's registered to a provider, but the number's current functionality is questionable. When in doubt, verify directly with known official contact details rather than calling back 0370751980.

Multiple people are reporting 03 7075 1980 - is it definitely a scam?

Eight contributors have reported 03 7075 1980 since October 2025, with two confirming it as scam activity, four marking it uncertain, and two as suspicious. The consistent pattern - incoming calls matched with 'not in service' on return attempts - is a recognised scam indicator. While not every report provides conclusive evidence, the combined pattern strongly suggests fraudulent or spoofed activity. Contributors are right to be cautious about 0370751980.

Should I report 03 7075 1980 to the authorities?

Yes. You can report 03 7075 1980 to the ACMA (acma.gov.au) for suspected spoofed or scam calling activity, and to Scamwatch (scamwatch.gov.au) if you believe you've been targeted. Include the date and time of the call, whether it was answered or missed, and any details about pre-recorded messages. Reporting 0370751980 helps authorities track scam patterns and protects other Australians from the same number.

I answered a call from 03 7075 1980 but didn't speak to anyone. Is it dangerous?

A call from 03 7075 1980 that connects but has no one on the line (or a pre-recorded message) is typical of robocall scams. These calls are used to verify that your number is active and monitored. Hanging up immediately and blocking 0370751980 is the safest response. Do not press any buttons in response to prompts, as scammers use button presses to flag numbers for follow-up scam attempts.
