Missed call to mobile yesterday, got Message2Text text saying “hello. This is an automated message from PayPal. We have received a purchase request of …”.

I actually returned the call, to a call centre, but hung up when text came through.

Pity I don’t use Pay Pal.

Indian lady answered the call claim to be calling from eBay regarding to purchase of the iTunes gift card.

I never buy iTunes gift cards online especially from email, sounds like a scam or fraud!!!

They hang off the phone before I finished the conversation, very rude!

Presumably a scam call. Left A robo message claiming to have deducted my account for X amount of dollars, and would deduct my account for the same amount again. Then said to call back if I wish to cancel this transaction. Didn’t actually say who they were representing though.

I received an automated voicemail stating that my account would be debited unless I called back to cancel or claim a refund. The message did not mention the name of the company and the price of the debit was only partially cut off at the beginning, making it sound very suspicious. I will not be calling back.

The voicemail left by this number said that someone was allegedly using my eBay account, which is concerning.

The caller claimed to be from eBay and mentioned a pending transaction of approximately $200 on my account. They asked me to choose between options to cancel, refund, or speak to a representative, but there was no option to accept the transaction. I recognize this as a classic "Refund Scam." When I called back, the person (who spoke with a male Indian accent and said he was calling from Brisbane) avoided providing details about his office location and hung up when I pressed for information.
