A woman with an accent, likely Indian, called me claiming to be from Visa, mentioning unusual activity on my credit card. However, I do not even possess a Visa card, only a Mastercard. This seems to be a case of telemarketers misrepresenting themselves.
The caller identified themselves as "what" and laughed, hanging up when they couldn't hear me well. It was quite unprofessional.
I got a call from this number claiming to be from Visa/Mastercard, which immediately raised my suspicions as they are two different companies. It became clear it was a scam since I don't have any accounts with those banks, and they didn't even get my last name correct. Their unprofessionalism made it obvious they shouldn't have had access to my personal transactions.
The caller did not leave any message after calling, which makes me think the call was dubious or suspicious.
A caller claiming to be from PayPal contacted me regarding a charge of 900 dollars. The conversation turned suspicious when he asked me to put the call on loudspeaker and follow his instructions. Trusting my instincts, I decided to hang up.
