This is a scam call.
The scammers have been calling me for about a year. I guess they’ll do the rounds each week and call the same people who know their scammers and have offended them. They try to convince people to buy Rangehood fans or electricity, but there is a common theme. Where are they call themselves something along the lines of Victorian fan Association or Victorian government. I ask what the business number is, and they just say oh yeah, look up on Google the Victorian government. I guess they’re looking for the not well informed, to give the credit card numbers.
I have received calls from this number (and varying by a couple of digits) which always follow a pattern. There is a delay before the caller responds. Always Indian(?) accent, asking if they are speaking to 'Mr Roberts'. Every time, they claim to be looking for Mr Roberts. I have repeatedly told them to stop calling, they have a wrong number, my number is on the Do-Not-Call register, etc. But they continue to call. Blocked and reported as Spam.
