When I answered this call, there was a noticeable delay before a recorded female voice notified me that my Amazon Prime account was about to be charged $99.99. The recorded message instructed me to press button 1 if I wanted to cancel the transaction. I didn't engage and hung up instead, recognizing it as a common scam.

Today's scam from this number was "suspicious activity on your passport".

These idiots need to start writing scripts for tv when I look at the different types of scam they try.

Surely in this time of digital systems a number like this could be instantly traced, tracked and permanently disconnected until it's legitimately accounted for?

Rather disheartening to think they prey on people.

Usual annoying indian based visa credit card charge scam call. … someone with an indian accent but a convincing (hahahaha) name like "fred" Bill" or "Jack". Doesn't matter what button you press you get that vulture on the end. We repeatedly press 7 non stop until they hang up.. They usually swear at us just before doing so.
