Caller claimed to be from National Broadband Network Service Centre, told me they were seeing bad traffic packets from my house and asked if I had given user name or password out to the router. He asked me to confirm the details... Urm no way mate... I asked them what type of traffic patterns are they seeing? He said he couldn't tell me that information as it was sensitive, I informed him I work for a telecommunications company and it is not sensitive info, I then asked him which address he is referring too as I have two? Knowing full well by this stage it was a scam.... He hung up.

They asked me about my password and requested verification. When I mentioned I had two residences, they couldn't specify which traffic patterns or their timings, which didn't make sense given my IT background. Eventually, they hung up.

Said it Was technical department checking for internet speed, very noisy background, I asked which company he said National Broadband Network Broadband, was insisting to check internet speed sending me on a Google search. Then mentioned some other staff would have been sent to my house to fix internet speed (which I never asked for), I said no one was requested to my house. He mentioned someone accessing to my router or hotspot. O asked questions, said my call was being transferred to a supervisor. I hung up. Very weird. Please beware. I am concerned what they could do in the mins I was on the line. Please advice if anything customer shall be aware.
