Called from Melbourne, don't know anyone there. Picked up, they were silent for 3 seconds then hung up, probably expecting a call back. scam.
After I answered the call, the caller hung up without saying anything. I suspect this was a scam call. I have blocked the number and deleted it from my contacts.
Investment scams - number blocked.
When I answered the call, there was complete silence on the other end. After a few seconds of waiting, the call ended. I have decided to block that number as a precaution.
I received a call that appeared to be from a telemarketer. There was excessive background noise and the caller claimed to have emailed me about products in the past, which I found confusing. I eventually hung up and decided to block the number.
Unsolicited call to a number on the Do Not Call Register. Supposedly trying to sell some sort of income/financial products. Was able to tell me my number, but had the wrong name (no one else has ever had my number). Asked for my details to "validate" the call. When I brought up the Do Not Call Register they didn't seem to know what it was, so either doesn't care about the relevant rules or calling from outside Australia and spoofing the number. Either way, I wouldn't trust a call from this number.
I chose not to answer this call because I didn’t recognize the number. When I called back out of curiosity, an automatic message in an American accent informed me that the number is not in service. This raises several red flags.
I didn’t answer this call but they left a voicemail that captured a lot of background conversations, which sounded suspicious and scam-like (a major red flag). When I tried to return the call, I was informed that the number is not connected (another red flag).
Scammer.
I received a total of six calls from this number over two days—three calls yesterday and three calls today. I want these repeated calls to stop immediately!
This number showed up on my phone with the label "Suspected Spam (Telemarketer)." To avoid any potential issues, I did not answer the call.
I dialled the number from a landline rather than my mobile and got a "not in service" recording.
