Understanding the Nature of 03 7020 6213
The phone number 03 7020 6213 / 0370206213 has come to light as a source of numerous fraudulent messages impersonating well-known banks like NAB and Bendigo Bank. Users have reported receiving SMS notifications claiming that payments to a person named "Jason Ling" are on security hold. This alarming trend raises questions about how to safeguard oneself from such scams.
Classification and Analysis
This number has been categorically identified as a scam, specifically a pending payment scam. The messages sent from this number typically create a sense of urgency by asserting that a user's scheduled payment has encountered a security issue, thereby compelling the recipient to call the supposedly official number to "resolve" the problem. However, many users have reported not having any accounts with the banks mentioned, making these claims dubious at best.
In particular, the consistency of the reports aligns closely with tactics commonly used by scammers to elicit personal information from victims. Several messages discuss security holds related to fictitious payments, underlining the sophistication and deception behind this fraudulent scheme.

Reckon it is a sacm. Even though legitament text messages have come through this number. I beleive that a criminal has spoofed the ANZ number.
Scammer - Received the same text as the NAB ones reported: "A scheduled payment of $472.62 to Jason Ling has been placed on a security hold. If this was NOT you please call us on: (03) 7020 6213"
Received the same text as the NAB ones reported: "A scheduled payment of $472.62 to Jason Ling has been placed on a security hold. If this was NOT you please call us on: (03) 7020 6213" but claims to be from ANZ. It's short code text so it's not possible to reply to the text.
I got the same.
Pending payment scam.
Received a text about a payment I didn't make, I called this number and it was NAB. I was very skeptical at first but they had all my details without me revealing much and were able to stop that payment for me.
Also received the same text sent from "NAB"
Stated a payment to a person was on security hold and to call that number 03 7020 6213.
SMS saying “ A scheduled payment of $472.62 to Jason Ling has been placed on a security hold. If this was NOT you please call us on: (03) 7020 6213“
I have no active NAB accounts. Suspect it’s a scam.
Got an SMS sent from "NAB", apparently. Stated a payment to a person was on security hold and to call that number 03 7020 6213. Lol no, I'm not calling the number.
I received an SMS claiming that the National Australia Bank (NAB) has placed a security hold on a payment of $472.62 to someone named Jason Ling. I don’t know anyone by that name, and I do not have an account with NAB. Clearly, this is a scam attempt.
I received a scam message that appeared to be from Bendigo Bank. The message claimed that a scheduled payment to someone named Jason Ling had been placed on a security hold. It instructed me to call a specific number if I didn't recognize this transaction.
I received a fraudulent SMS pretending to be from NAB (National Australia Bank) stating that I must call this number or I will not receive funds from someone named "Jason Ling." I do not have an NAB account, nor do I know anyone by that name, and I am aware that many people are receiving similar fake messages these days.
